Love pottery as art and I drink out of my art mugs and eat out of my art bowls. It makes life more beautiful. Pottery art brings us close to the earth. Art is sacred. I treasure the connection between art and nature. Janisse Ray's garden journaling class sounds fabulous. Thanks for sharing all.
I too love the symbolism of mending pots so that they are different and more precious than before! I'm enjoying Janisse's course too, but oh, that sketching stuff. And thank you for putting my Sacred Geometry course on your radar. Registration will open in late April and the course runs three consecutive evenings in May. Blessings to you!
I love the idea of pottery breaking and being put back together piece by piece using precious metals. The journey of the pottery makes it more valuable in my eyes.
It reminds of the resilience of humans. Even if we break, we find ourselves, build ourselves back together, and become stronger and wiser.
Thank you for responding to my Substack post Anna. I absolutely agree - that was my point in how I, too, see the world and our place on Mother Earth. Blessings, Deb
Thanks for sharing, Deb! I am in Janisse's program, too, and have been surprising myself. I had a story that I couldn't draw, but I am re-'drawing' that old story.
I will look into your Sacred Geometry class - sounds intriguing 🤔
How nice to meet you Maria! Thank you for commenting on my Substack and glad to know you're drawing! I do hope you'll consider my Sacred Geometry course. Registration information coming in late April. Blessings, Deb
As a potter I understand this. I make pottery to fill a need to create. It is a humble craft and a joyful art.
There is something about the art of pottery that connects me deeply to Mother Earth. May your work continue to be joyful! Thanks for writing!
This is a water bug plate hot out of the kiln. Clay grounds me and connects me to the places forgotten .

Thanks Julia! That was exactly my point. And Janisse’s course is great! It’s pay what you can and come when you can. Blessings, Deb
I just love the idea of healing the broken pottery with precious metal that accentuates the beauty in making it whole again.
I am truly enjoying Janisse’s journaling course. I love it when she brings sketching into the writing.
I can’t wait for a Sacred Geometry course! I’ll be there!
