Upcoming Tarot Course, New Book!, writing update & so much more
The messages Tarot gives us are as ancient as alchemy, and as modern as today’s breaking news. The archetypes, mythologies, cultures, and beliefs in Tarot work together to create a map of the human experience, so, in preparation for this newsletter edition, I pulled a key at random (yeah, right!).
The Chariot, Key Seven in the Tarot’s major arcana, represents a level of spiritual mastery. Tarot often reminds us that we have choices in our lives, and the path that guides us is sometimes hidden in plain sight. The Chariot is the only key in the Waite-Smith deck in which a Hindu symbol appears! Notice the crescent moons on the charioteer’s shoulders, the stars on his crown and on the canopy, reminding us to honor nature and the Divine. There’s so much more in this key that is fraught with symbols and meaning!
But the question is: why does this matter? It matters because Tarot gives us a way to connect deeply to each other, and to the cosmos beyond us. Alchemy occurs when we consult Tarot for guidance. We then can relate to the world in a profound way that defies explanation.

A note about my perspective on Tarot: Tarot is so much more than a divination method. Its history reaches back so far that we don’t know its origins. Tarot has been used to relay messages between royal courts, to hide legends and teachings in plain sight, and to offer us metaphors and archetypes for our personal life lessons and journeys. My deep respect for Tarot and my deepest gratitude are about the ways in which world beliefs, mythologies, cultures, and history join together in the images and meanings of the keys to guide our paths today. I so hope you’ll begin your Tarot journey to yourself in this course!
