The Quickening: How Does Your Garden Grow?- February 2021
Dear ,
Dreams really do come true. For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of being a part – however small – of the work of Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. (Association for Research and Enlightenment).
I’m privileged to offer The Healing Power of Spiritual Gardening as a LIVE webinar on Wednesday, March 3 at 8 pm eastern for A.R.E. The recorded webinar will be available for viewing anytime thereafter as well.

Here’s what the Cayce website says about this upcoming webinar:
The Edgar Cayce readings tell us that “. . . he who understands nature walks close with God,” and that “. . . as much outdoors as possible would be well for the body.” As March arrives and spring is on the horizon, we often feel called to spend more time outdoors—in nature, in the woods, and in the garden. Cayce advised us that we could learn how to live by taking lessons from nature. If we spend time observing how nature is “using, doing, and being all that the Creator had them do,” perhaps we could do so as well, and gain a greater understanding of the Oneness of ALL life—all of creation. Join us for a fascinating and timely LIVE webinar featuring psychic teacher Deb Bowen, who explores these concepts and shares the incredible benefits of communing with nature, the elements and spiritual gardening.
While this webinar is similar to the Spiritual Gardening E-course on my website, it contains additional materials, some of it specific to the work and perspective of Edgar Cayce. I so hope you’ll join me!

Tarot Key for the Month: Temperance
If you ask me which Tarot key is my favorite, the answer varies depending on what my Guides are telling me to focus on, what’s going on in my world, what mythology/culture/belief I’m reading, etc. However, it’s a good bet that Temperance is going to always pop up in the top five.
The key depicts Archangel Michael pouring the “essence of life from the silver cup of the subconscious into the golden cup of the conscious, from the unseen to the seen, and then back again,” according to Eden Gray.
On his breastplate is the sign of the sacred book of Tarot – an upward-pointing triangle within a square. I love this symbol so much that I have it tattooed on my finger – in its simplicity rests the depth of my understanding of spiritual connectedness.
The interior of the triangle on my finger is painted yellow, representing the direction of east and the element of air, which offers us inspiration and connection to our intuition. The outline of the triangle is painted red, representing the direction of south and the element of fire, which offers us the impetus of action and connection to the life-force of energy. The square on my tattoo is painted blue, representing the direction of west and the element of water, which offers us introspection and connection to the unknown. The area outside the triangle is painted white, representing the direction of north and the element of earth, which offers us groundedness and connection to Mother Earth.
The triangle also represents the power of the trinity in many forms – mind/body/spirit, maiden/mother/crone, father/son/holy spirit. The square also represents a firm foundation of our beliefs. When we add the number of the three sides of the triangle to the four sides of the square, we get seven – the number of the major chakras in our body, the number of cosmic mastery, and – how wonderful – my birth number!.
There are so many others symbols present on the Temperance key – the flowers, the water, the earth, the path to the crown in the distance, the hills, and the vibrations we cannot see. This key is all about vibrations and energy! Its number is 14, (double seven!), which represents the end of the second phase of the Fool’s journey toward enlightenment. The number here also represents the energy of the Emperor, key four, tenfold, and so much more!
Blessed be,
Deb
Quickening Moon: A Promise for Tomorrow
Quickening full moon occurs at 3:17 am Eastern time, Saturday, February 27.
To quicken means to awaken, to become alive, active, and growing. The full moon after Imbolc is so named because Imbolc is a time of quickening – when Mother Earth begins to awaken from her winter slumber. Beneath her soil, roots are stirring and new life is preparing to burst forth from deep within the Earth.
I wrote in my website blogpost this month about time being circular, not linear, and the promise of the coming of Spring speaks to me of this concept at a soul level. I trust in the promise that the seasons will spin in their order as they always have, and new life will burst forth as it always will.
In my beliefs, full moon is a time for offering up gratitude for the gifts in my life. The moon is full in her Mother form, nurturing and caring for us all. At this particular full moon, I will offer gratitude for the lessons learned during this past winter, and for the gifts I trust will be coming in spring.
This may be a good night to sit by the fire (it is still winter!) with your seed catalogs. While offering gratitude, you also can plan!
The full moon after Imbolc in February has, like all full moons, many names – Hunger Moon and Snow Moon to name two – depending on location, beliefs and cultures.
Whatever you call this full moon – enjoy your cosmic connections and offer thanks!

JUST ONE MORE THING BEFORE YOU GO:
As we begin to see the end of what has been, for many of us, a long, difficult winter (and a long year since February 2020), I am filled with optimism and hope.
I really do believe the theme of this month’s newsletter will hold true – we all are waking up, quickening, vibrating to the promise of more light and joy in our world.
The road ahead is still long, and the work I need to do on myself never ends, but I have hope. Each afternoon as I watch the sun set over the water, I see it move just a little in the sky, heading ever so slightly toward its place for the Vernal Equinox, when the world stands, for just a moment in balance.
Please know how honored I am for my connection with you!
Thank you, , for reading my newsletter!
