I’ve been thinking about time over the past few weeks. I really hope you’ll take the time to read this newsletter! Where does time go? Why don’t we have enough time? How do we make better use of it? Why does it melt away? Why do we need to plan so far into the future? Why do we waste so much time? Why do we feel guilty when we waste time? What does it mean, really, to waste time? Why do we spend so much time worrying about time? You can see the questions could go on and on?

Tarot Meditation for the Month: The Page of Cups
Soon we will move from the air sign of Aquarius into the water sign of Pisces. In Tarot, the suit of Cups represents water, the unconscious mind, the ability to be reflective and introspective. The Page is, of course, a
messenger, someone who brings news that you, in fact, may already know, at least unconsciously. The fish represents the beginnings of an idea or of something forming in the imagination.
In the Waite-Rider version of the key, the Page of Cups is well dressed in blues and reds, signifying his connection to water and to passion and energy. His mantle is covered with red and white flowers, a Tarot symbol suggesting a balance of desire and purity. The Page stands before a blue rolling sea. The foundation upon which he stands and the cup from which the fish emerges are yellow, signifying illumination of thought and inspiration. The background of the key is grey, suggesting that there are many unknowns to be discovered in the message the Page brings.
The Page of Cups is an excellent meditation tool because one of his tasks in the deck is to help you with your meditation practice. It is possible that while you meditate with him, new, creative ideas will come to you. Ask, and see what happens!
Book Recommendation of the Month:
Lasagna Gardening By Patricia Lanza
If I could only own one gardening book, Lasagna Gardening would be it. The concept is very simple and works wonderfully if you want to start from scratch, or if you want to redesign a garden, or if you are planting in pots on your porch. Lasagna Gardening is a great tool to have as you develop your relationship with the
energy of the plant kingdom and Mother Earth. If you’re working your way through my Spiritual Gardening E-course, you’ll find this book a great companion.
Using the techniques in this book, I’ve created beds where no “weeds” can grow, using no dirt at all. That’s right – no dirt. I’d mark off an area for a new bed in the morning, layer in newspaper, compost, leaves, mulch, manure, and other organic materials by lunchtime, and plant my crops by midafternoon. Tons of practical information is in this book, as well as sections to stir your imagination – designs for night-blooming flower gardens, formal herb gardens, cottage gardens, and problem-solvers for steep hillsides and draining issues.
If you’re itching to be spring gardening already, this book helps put structure around your dreams. If you’re in the Southern Hemisphere, this book helps you get your garden ready for winter and teaches you a new way to get a jump on next spring. A Time To Release, A Time To Sow
The Quickening Moon occurred on February 9, reminding us to be grateful for gifts in our lives, and to offer up gratitude, particularly for the stirring of life within Mother Earth and her children.
The Moon is new on February 23, at the very edge of the beginning of the sign of Pisces. This is a time to dive deeply into the waters of emotion, to find your truth, and be open and receptive to energies and information coming to you from the spiritual realms. Don’t lose sight of logic and reason, but also pay close attention to your intuition, and be inspired.
In the Northern Hemisphere, this can be a dismal time of the year. The world is gray and brown or covered in snow and mud. The promise of spring we honored at Imbolc seems very far into the future. This truly is my time of the year to go within. My teacup and books are my best friends right now. Except for my journal. My journal always is nearby. I’m on the verge of birthing something – a new course, a new podcast episode topic, a new piece of writing, new missives from Mary Magdalene (I’ll share those with you soon).
Much is on the cusp of fruition. Make time to be still, to hear the small voices of inspiration, and to trust your intuition. My wish for us all.
