Shimmering Reflections- August 2022
Dear ,
Do you find yourself in a deeply reflective space right now? August is an unusual time of year for profound reflection for me, but here I am. Maybe it’s the anticipation of transitioning to fall and the harvest celebrations of Mabon and Samhain, which are my favorite times of the year. Maybe it’s looking back over how the lessons in my life have built on each other and knowing there is much more to learn. Maybe it’s a need to just be still for a minute and breathe, watch the ocean and the gulls, and just be. Whatever the reason, I’m thinking about the past and how life changes.
The August 2021 edition of this newsletter offered the theme of doors – crossing thresholds in our lives, only to find more and more doors. I’m still going through doors – some of them ones I’ve been through in the past, and others new to me. As I get older, old doors cycle around fairly often – patterns in my life I relive and from which I continue to learn. Additionally, new doors open, and I am so blessed – new friends, new books and music, new lessons to learn, and new experiences to explore.
Last weekend my dream of walking through the doors of the Edgar Cayce ARE (Association for Research and Enlightenment) in Virginia Beach, Virginia came true. Samantha and I were invited to teach at a wonderful conference. Our presentations centered on dreamwork, with a particular focus towards Samantha’s book that will be released on September 1 https://samanthafey.com/book-promo/
Walking through the doors of the Cayce ARE’s headquarters was a dream come true for me, and I was honored to be invited to speak at the conference! More than anyone else in my formative years, Edgar Cayce opened more doors than I can count to much of what I’ve learned about the metaphysical world over the years. I’m so grateful.
I wish you time for reflection, time to walk through doors, and time to just be!

1. strengthen your intuitive skills in working with the keys
2. incorporate other psychic tools into your work (crystals, pendulums…)
3. use the keys for prompts in writing, story-telling, and more
4. work with the keys in meditation and more!
5. examine legends and myths associated with Tarot that are still relevant today

Crystal of the Month: Spirit Quartz
Spirit Quartz, one of the most versatile stones in the Quartz family, is a stone of transition and ascension. In healing and releasing rituals, it is said to call in energies from the higher planes to aid in deep spiritual connection among the person for whom the ritual is conducted, those working with the person, and the energetic entities supporting from the higher planes. It is an excellent stone for meditation, particularly if you are aiding someone who is transitioning across the veil.
It activates and cleans other stones, and magnifies the intent of other stones, particularly in aligning the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the work. Spirit Quart is Quartz found in combination with many other stones, including Amethyst and Citrine (the specimen shown here), and in many forms. The Cactus formation is shown here.
